Sunday Morning Service November 30 (9:30 am)

9:30 am The HOLIDAY SEASON is upon us - with its festive lights and spicy baked goods. With intricately wrapped gifts and... so much pressure! This morning you are invited into another season, the Church Year's season of Advent. On this first Sunday in Advent, we stop rushing in order to wait upon the God, who once drew near to us in the soft flesh of an infant and who has promised to draw near to us again in the glory of new creation. In the meantime, we rest in the past faithfulness of God and trust in the promises of God's future comfort. Confronted with the high expectations that accompany this world's holiday celebrations, we are content to, as the theologian N.T. Wright says, "live in the present as people who are to be made complete in the future." ( Read More )

Sunday Evening Fellowship (6:00 pm)

6:00 pm This evening our worship will be in the style of the Taize community in France. It will focus on prayer expressed through meditative singing, scripture, and silence. In a world filled with constant noise and distraction, Taize worship is a wonderful way for us to re-center ourselves in God as we begin our Advent journey to Bethlehem. ( Read More )
